I have been neglecting my dA because: 1) I don't have much time for things like this anymore, 2) I don't really enjoy it as much as I used to. I feel as though I have outgrown it in a sense.

However, I will try to keep posting when I can. This summer I am working at the Santa Fe Photography Workshops - the #1 photographic workshops in the world. Photography is definitely a huge part of my life, and I have already learned so much in this first week.

What I post this summer will most likely be from the workshops.

I am flying to Italy tomorrow and will be studying in Siena for the next four months. I will be taking A LOT of pictures, but don't know how often I will get a chance to update my dA account. So if you don't see any updates for a while, be patient - I will post pictures eventually!

This week I received my acceptance letter...so it's official. This coming spring I will be studying abroad in Siena, Italy! I have never been to Europe before, so this is a whole new experience for me (but kind of scary given that I will be flying, settling in, and being in culture shock all by myself).

I'll be flying to Rome for orientation on January 12, and then taking a train to Siena on the following day.

I can't wait to start taking photographs over there! All the ones I've already seen show that it is an absolutely gorgeous place. Hopefully I will be able to take some photos and maybe put my style in the photos as well (since nobody likes a copy cat).

Right now I'm stuck between being completely elated and absolutely terrified. But, I've wanted this for a long time. I'm sure it will be amazing after I get used to the culture and Italian way of life.

I am finally back in Ithaca and more than ready to start my junior year.

I finally got off island this past weekend for the first time in 62 days. Phew. Now I have less than a month before I am off this island for good.

I'm sick of this island now, but I'm sure when I'm back in Ithaca I'm probably going to start missing the people and sights from this place.

And...there's lots of drama at work. And by drama, I mean employees hooking up and whatnot. Kind of scandalous too, given that some of the people involved already have significant others. Must be the summer heat...
